MARION F. LAZZARI's Obituary
MARION F. LAZZARI, age 89, of L’Anse, passed into God’s mercy on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse where she had been a patient for several days. She was born in Hancock on September 7, 1920 the daughter of the late Frank E. and Theora M. (Bernard) McKindles. Marion was raised in Hancock and graduated from Hancock High School in 1938. On May 27, 1947, Marion married Daniel A. Lazzari in Hancock and together they raised their family in both Hancock and L’Anse. She was a long time active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the former Altar Society, and the former St. Rita Circle in L’Anse. Marion’s passion was cooking, and she liked to do arts and crafts. She loved her family and her faith. Above all Marion was a loving and devoted wife to Dan and a precious gift of God to her children and family.
Mrs. Lazzari is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Dan, children, Daniel A. (Tony) Lazzari of Escanaba, Stephen R. (Lynn) Lazzari of Green Bay, WI., Gregory G. (Karen) Lazzari of Watton, and Mary Angela (Larry) Gasperich of Iron Mountain, grandchildren, Tony, Christopher, Dominic, Sarah, Andrew, Stephanie, Michelle, Michael, Christina, Joseph, Emily, Elizabeth, and two great grandchildren. Marion is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and loved family members. She was preceded in death by her brothers John and Robert McKindles.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12 noon on Friday, June 18, 2010 from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse with Father John Longbucco, celebrant. The family received friends at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment took place in the Lakeside Cemetery, Hancock. Memorials in Mrs. Lazzari’s honor may be directed to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Sacred Heart Catholic School, L’Anse.
