Marlene A. Darcy's Obituary
Marlene A. Darcy, age 73, of Baraga, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at her residence in Baraga.
She was born on June 20, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of the late Alvin C. and Leona M. (Barrett) Andrews. Marlene attended Eastern High School in Lansing. On October 3, 1969, she married Thomas M. “Tom” Darcy in Lansing. He preceded her in death in 2023.
Marlene was employed by General Motors in Lansing for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slots, traveling, doing yard work and gardening, reading, and adult coloring. Marlene joined Alcoholics Anonymous on January 3, 1977, and proudly celebrated 49 years of sobriety.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Lee Darcy of Norton Shores, Michigan; her grandson, Thomas William Gleason of Lansing; her great-grandchildren, Thomas Jacob Gleason, Oliver Michael Hirzel, and Diana K. Gleason; her brothers, Grover (Pat) Andrews of Lansing and Clifford (Joann) Andrews of Florida; and her half-sister, Laura Pratt of Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, and her grandson, Jacob William Gleason.
Spring burial will take place in the Baraga Cemetery.
The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
