MELVIN L. NORBACK's Obituary
MELVIN L. NORBACK, 66, of Covington, MI., passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Covington Rest Home, where he had been a resident for a week. He was born in Watton, MI. on January 10, 1941 the son of the late Waino and Mildred (Petinen) Norback. He was an equipment operator for various logging companies in the area. Melvin married the former Bonnie Rolloff and she preceded him in death in 1980. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, hunting, fishing, trapping, bowling, shooting pool and playing ball.
Mr. Norback is survived by his son, Kevin Norback of Covington, grandson, Tim Norback of Covington, brothers, Gerald (Jean) Norback of Watton, Art (Sherry) Norback of Covington, Ray Norback of Covington, and sister, Jeanette Lepola of Covington, and Cy Davel his special friend of 22 years of Covington. Numerous other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his son, Stuart, and his daughter Peggy in 1973, and his sister, Judy Norback Keene.
A memorial service for Mr. Norback was held at 11 am Friday, November 2, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington with Pastor Mark Reinsch officiating. The family greeted friends at the church on Friday from 10 am until time of the service. The family has entrusted the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with arrangements.
