MICHELE L. LANE's Obituary
MICHELE L. LANE, 41, of L’Anse, passed away suddenly, Monday evening December 12, 2011 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hancock, MI on February 9, 1970 the daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth (Rothenberger) Tapani. Michele graduated from Chassell High School in 1988 and then attended Gogebic College where she received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She married David Lane on June 30, 1990 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chassell. Michele worked at the Celotex Corp. for 10 years then started her own daycare center, which she ran for 14 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chassell. Michele enjoyed reading, hockey, baking, and was a member of the Baraga County Softball League.
Mrs. Lane is survived by her loving husband David, sons Tanner Lane, Harley Nielson , and Jeremiah Bergeron all at home, daughters Jessica Lane, Lacey Lane, and McKenna Lane all of L’Anse, grandchild Jadey Bug, brothers John (Beverly) Tapani of Chassell, Ron (Roberta) Tapani of Chassell, Gary (Marrie) Tapani of Kingsford, Dave Tapani of Chassell, and sister Ruth Ann (Ed) Lindgren of Chassell. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Susie Walitalo and father-in-law Dennis Lane.
A memorial funeral service for Mrs. Lane was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor Greg Mileski officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials in Michele’s honor may be directed to the family.
