Mildred B Ketola's Obituary
Mildred B. “Sis” Ketola, age 82, of L’Anse, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse with her loving family at her side. She was the only daughter of the late John and Hazel (LaPlante) Lundy and was born on May 10, 1932 in L’Anse, MI. Millie attended the local schools and met Martin E. Ketola whom she married on March 17, 1951. Millie’s greatest love was her family. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother to her six children, when grandchildren arrived, she was thrilled. Millie loved to surround herself with family. She enjoyed camping, puzzles, dominos and traveling. Millie and Martin spent several winters as snowbirds in Mission Texas. Upon returning to L’Anse, Green Hill Manor became home, making friends that were dearly valued.
Mrs. Ketola is survived by her loving children, sons Martin Jr. (Judy) of Lewisville, TX, Pat (Colleen) of L’Anse, Mike (Christine) of Flint, MI, Peter (Rochelle) of L’Anse, Paul of L’Anse and daughter Mary (Tom) LeRue of L’Anse, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Reino Ketola, sisters-in-law Marie Ketola, Elsie Lundy, Ruth Ann LeClaire all of L’Anse. Many wonderful nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Werner Olgren, husband Martin, brothers John and Dennis Lundy and daughter-in-law Tina Ketola
Spring interment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Pastor Dan MeGrath of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate. A family service will be announced at a later date.
