MYRA C. ELLICO,88, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Tuesday morning, December 29, 2009. She was born to the late Edna (Sibilsky) and John B. Harrington in Hancock, Michigan on August 15, 1921. She attended L Read Obituary
Myra was a special friend to my mother, Norene (Artley). We have shared many stories of times together when our family would visit L'Anse in the summer. In the more recent years, we would pack a load of Myra's Pasties (from the shrine)in our camper to bring back to Indiana.

To Myra's "kids" - I was out of town or I would have attended the visitation/funeral. It's difficult to not have "parents" anymore. I didn't know her well but recall a kind, gentle,loving & happy lady. God bless & hugs to all.
To all your Family, I deeply regret being out of town at this time, know my thoughts and prayers are will you all. I recall your family growing up next to us with all the kids in the neighborhood there was always a "cool-aid stand" somewhere, thank you to our Mothers. Your Mother's good humor and gentle spirit will be missed.

Aunt Myra will be missed. I have many memories of visiting her at the shrine, eating pasties and the best, biggest chocolate chip cookies ever! I hold those memories close to my heart.

Sandy, Debbie and Family--I had good intentions of coming to L'Anse after work tonight, but the slippery roads make me nervous. (don't know why it never bothered me when I was younger to drive on anything), Anyway, I thought so highly of your Mom and she meant the world to my Mom. I'll never forget when Myra moved out with you and my Mom said to me, "there goes my best friend in all the world, and I'll probably never see her again". It just about broke my heart when she said that. Happily, they did get together a few times after Myra moved and happily for my Mom, Myra was in L'Anse and with us when we buried my Moms' ashes this Summer. I know my Mom is very happy right now to be able to be with her best friend again. Take care.
