Myrtice D McIntyre's Obituary
Myrtice D. McIntyre, age 96, of L’Anse passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dollar Bay, MI on June 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Dono and Elise (Langevin) Treadeau. Myrtice attended St. Ignatius School in Houghton. She married Daniel H. McIntyre on November 1, 1941 in L’Anse. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1962. Myrtice had worked as a baker at a local grocery store. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse, the Order of St. Francis and St. Rita Circle. Myrtice enjoyed reading, cooking and singing. She loved watching the Tigers and listening to country music.
Myrtice is survived by her loving children, Timothy (Nancy) McIntyre and Riley (Kay) McIntyre both of L’Anse, Dan (Patricia) McIntyre of Oklahoma, Pat (Carrie) McIntyre of Wisconsin, Nel (Ron) Bishop and Colleen (Gary) Bishop both of Tennessee and Eva Goodreau of Greenland, MI. 28 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, brother Delbert Treadeau of Texas and sister Marie Elmblad of L’Anse. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive along with special friend Eunice Tonkin and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Kitty, brothers Douglas and Sonny and sisters Nel and Alice.
A Memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse with Father Corey Litzner, celebrant.. A luncheon was held in the church hall immediately following the Mass. Interment took place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
