MYRTLE R. MALONEY's Obituary
MYRTLE R. MALONEY, 100 years old, formerly of Baraga, passed away Tuesday evening April 8, 2008 at Bayside Village, L'Anse, where she had been a resident for several years. She was born in Baraga on October 29, 1907 the daughter of the late Henry and Olevina (Foucault) Ross. Myrtle graduated from Baraga High School in 1925. She married Lawrence Maloney at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Baraga in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1983. Myrtle had worked for the former county welfare department as a secretary. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the Womans Order of Foresters. Myrtle was the family historian, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and playing bingo.
Mrs. Maloney is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins, and special friend, Pauline Kalupske of Green Bay, WI. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Maloney in 2005, 2 brothers, and 8 sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2008 from St. Ann's Catholic Church, Baraga with Father George Maki, celebrant. Interment will take place in the Baraga Cemetery. The family greeted friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass. Memorials in Mrs. Maloney's honor may be directed to the Bayside Activities Fund.
