Nelda Jean Bishop's Obituary
Nelda Jean Bishop, age 72, of L’Anse, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Bayside Village, L’Anse. She was born in L’Anse on July 25, 1944, the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Myrtice (Treadeau) McIntrye. Nelda graduated from L’Anse High School. She had been employed by Baraga County as County Clerk until her retirement. Nelda married Ron Bishop at St Ignatius, Houghton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had sung in the church choir for many years. Nelda enjoyed crocheting, knitting, volunteering, traveling, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nelda is survived by her loving family, husband Ron Bishop, children Ed (Dawn) Robillard of Spring Lake, NC, Dan (Lana) Robillard of L’Anse, John (Debbie) Robillard of L’Anse and Kati Robillard Moses of Sweetwater, TN, grandchildren Justin Robillard, Kaylie Moses, Joseph Robillard, Alyssa Robillard, Kobe Robillard, Kade Robillard, Abbey Robillard, Kyle Robillard and Ryan Robillard, great grandchildren Tate, Lyli and Grace, brothers Dan (Pat) McIntyre of Broken Arrow, OK, Pat (Carrie) McIntyre of Appleton, WI, Riley (Kay) McIntyre of L’Anse, Timothy (Nancy) McIntyre, sisters Colleen (Gary) Bishop of Sweetwater, TN and Eva Goodreau of Greenland, MI, stepchildren Julie Fish, Cathy Gordon and Ron Bishop, Jr. Numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren also survive along with nieces, nephews and cousins and her dear friends Monica Thomson and Marion Croker both of Sweetwater, TN. She was preceded in death by her sister Kitty.
A Memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse with Father Corey Litzner, celebrant. The family greeted friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass. Immediately following the Memorial Mass, a luncheon was held in the church hall.
Spring interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, L’Anse.
