ONNIE H. NULU's Obituary
ONNIE H. NULU, 89, of Baraga, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Shulstad Leisure Living in Baraga. He was born in Baraga, MI. on February 28, 1918 son of the late John and Mary (Lampinen) Nulu. Onnie attended school in Baraga. He was a self- employed tool and die maker. His skill and talent was in demand and for a while had worked for Boeing Aircraft Company and Pettibone Corporation. He preferred, however, to work in his own machine shop and work the family farm on Gristmill Road in Baraga. Onnie also enjoyed traveling, and liked animals, especially dogs.
Mr. Nulu is survived by his sister, Esther Taurianen of Redford, MI., 6 nieces, and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Elma, Edna, and Eleanor, and brothers, John and Arthur.
Funeral services for Mr. Nulu were held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2007 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Pastor John Autio officiating. Interment took place in the Pelkie Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Memorials in Mr. Nulu’s honor may be directed to the Copper Country Humane Society or Baraga County Home Care & Hospice. The family has entrusted the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with arrangements.
