PAUL C. FOY's Obituary
PAUL C. FOY, age 92, of Covington, MI. passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, MI. where he had been a patient for a week. He was born in Ishpeming, MI. on November 25, 1917 the son of the late Edward and Julianna (Fortier) Foy. Paul attended school in Ishpeming and Amasa and graduated from Kenton High School in 1938. He served in the US Army during WWII. Paul married the former Sigrid Styrk in Ishpeming on July 3, 1971. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and served on the Covington Board of Review. Paul was an avid fisherman; enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas, and playing the harmonica in family get togethers. He was interested in aeronautics and built his own helicopter.
Mr. Foy is survived by his loving wife Sigrid, son Duane (Lorraine) Anderson of Covington, daughter Marcella Anderson of Apple Valley, CA, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nephews Jim and Dennis Foy, grand nephew Craig Foy and grand niece Jolene Foy. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Foy, Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Foy were held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Brian Gerber officiating. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Baraga County area veterans, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444 conducted military honors at the funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment took place in the Covington Cemetery.
