PAUL J. CLISCH's Obituary
PAUL J. CLISCH, age 70, of Baraga, passed away suddenly Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse, MI. He was born in Baraga, MI on October 1, 1940 the son of the late David and Rose (Ellenich) Clisch. Paul graduated from Baraga High School. He married the former Helen A. Vizina in Baraga in 1966. Paul was the owner of the Paul Clisch Logging Company, retiring in 2003 after a 35-year career. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga, Timbermans Association, and was a former member of the Baraga Area School Board. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, collecting maple syrup, making wood and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Clisch is survived by his loving wife Helen, children James (Kristy) Clisch of Baraga, Alan (Mellisa) Clisch of Miami, FL, Debbie (Harold) Schoepflin of Huntsville, Al, and Connie (Richard) Smith of Gaastra, MI., grandchildren Mary, Autumn, Kaitlyn, Karli, and Grace, brothers Father Norman Clisch of Iron River, Jerry (Shirley) Clisch of Baraga, Tom (Mary Kay) Clisch of Baraga, and Roland Clisch of Baraga, sisters Colleen (Tom) Armstrong of Milwaukee, and Lisa (Jim) Mantilla of Ishpeming. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jean Marie and his brother Roger.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 am, Thursday, August 18, 2011 from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga with Father Norman Clisch, celebrant. Interment took place in the Baraga Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse and at the church on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the Mass. A parish rosary was recited at the funeral chapel on Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm.
