I like to remember Phillip sitting at our table enjoying conversation & coffee with my parents . Mom said he was more than a Nephew as she treated him like a Son . As a young man he worked at our farm sharing the burden of labor with a strength beyond most . Lately I realize the world needs more story tellers & this was another gift Phil had .He was a remarkable man & it is sad to hear of His passing. My sympathy to His Daughters & Grandchildren
I met Mr. Golden while visiting my father at Jacobetti.
I often saw him helping other veterans and share stories as we sat around the lunch table. He was a bright spot in the day and I’m certain he will be missed. To watch one Veteran bend to help another
Speaks volumes.
I think his favorite story was ten cents a rat… that is how he paid for his first rifle much to his Mothers concern. Rest In Peace Phil ~ you have done your work. My condolences to his family.
