RAPHAEL J. "RAY" LeCLAIRE's Obituary
RAPHAEL J. LeCLAIRE, age 87, of L’Anse passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette. Ray was born in Baraga, MI on July 1, 1926, the son of the late Anatole and Corrine (Vizina) LeClaire. He graduated form Baraga High School. Ray served in the US Army during WWII. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for CCI, retiring in 1987.. On December 3, 1955 he married his wife Jean Jaykka in Baraga. She preceded him in death on August 15, 2000. On February 14, 2004 Ray married the former Ruth Ann Lundy at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse .. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church L’Anse, and the Knights of Columbus. Ray was an avid dancer, and enjoyed playing golf.
Mr. LeCLaire is survived by his loving wife Ruth, children Dennis (Cynthia) Lundy of L’Anse, Robert John Lundy of L’Anse, and Debbie (Ronald) Niemela of Vulcan, MI, grandchildren Sherry, Dennis Alan, Mathew, Robbie Lynn, and Brooke, great grandchildren Lisa, Kyle, Noah, Jassmine, Sydney, Nicklas, Nolan, and Elizabeth, and sister Lucille (Wesley) Dollar of Marquette. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Jean, 2 sons, a daughter, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday July 15, 2013 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse with Father Corey Litzner, celebrant. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 6 pm until 8 p.m. at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel where a parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. LeClaire’s obituary may also be viewed and condolences sent to the family at www.rfsc.net. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse has been entrusted with the arrangements.
