REUBEN J. TURPEINEN, age 90, of Baraga, passed away following an illness of several years on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Houghton County Medical Care Facility, Hancock. He was born in Alston on March 17, 1923 the son of the late Read Obituary
Uncle Reuben was one of the kindest individuals I have ever known. While I didn't have the luxury of growing up next door, seeing him those summers away from Detroit, left life long loving impressions on me.
My heartfelt sympathy to all the family and I send love to Aunt Thelma. He will never be forgotten.

As the boys sat and talked about their "Cookie Grandpa", it brought a smile to my face! Jarren talking about Grandpa teaching him to blow on his thumb to pump his muscles up and Seth talking about Grandpas stories from the military. One thing is certain, his TN great grandsons loved him and love their "Cookie Grandma"! As their mother I am proud to say that Reuben instilled qualities in my sons that will continue on with their own children! We love you all and are praying for peace and comfort!
