RICHARD E. STONEBRAKER's Obituary
RICHARD E. "THE TAX GUY" STONEBRAKER, 66, of L'Anse, passed away Wednesday evening March 11, 2009 at Bayside Village, L'Anse. He had been ill for several months. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 8, 1942 the son of the late Wilfred and Norell (Cockerill) Stonebraker. Richard graduated from Cleveland High School, received his Bachelor of Science from University of Washington and his Masters Degree from Syracuse University, NY. In 1988 he married the former Karen Bemrose in Seattle. Richard was employed by the Ojibwa Casino in1992 serving in various positions retiring in 2008 as a security officer. He was an avid sports fan of all kinds.
Mr. Stonebraker is survived by his loving wife, Karen, children, Richard Jr., Barry, Shawn, and Amy Stonebraker all of Seattle, step-son, Duc Mai of Laughlin, NV., brother, Lawrence (Joe) Stonebraker of Bellevue, WA., sister, Kathy Zwiebelman of Cutlery Bay, FL. and special cousin, Jean (Gary) Coard of Port Townsand, WA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A memorial service for Mr. Stonebraker was held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Father Augustin George officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Following the service the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home
