RICHARD ALLEN JARVEY's Obituary
RICHARD ALLEN JARVEY, age 39, of Covington, MI. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, 2010. He was born in L'Anse, MI. on July 23, 1970 and graduated from L'Anse High School in 1989. He worked at Erickson's Sawmill, L'Anse for several years and was presently working at the Covington Rest Home for the last 10 years. He was greatly appreciated by the residents for all his caring ways. He enjoyed going to his friend (Jay's) camp on weekends, making wood, playing pool and 4-wheeling. He also loved playing cribbage, and crossword puzzles, and playing euchre. Richard was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Red Wings.
Surviving are his parents, Ron and Karlene Sayatovich of L'Anse, and Dennis Jarvey of Detroit, one sister, Cindy (Greg) Seavoy of L'Anse, nephews Dylan and Dusty Seavoy of L'Anse, grandmother Irene Sayotovich, his aunt and uncle Duke and Jean Dusincki, who were very special to him from Covington, uncle Jim (Terry), uncle David Asikainen of Covington, uncle and aunt Skip and Fran Asikainen of Florida, aunts Della Petaja of Calumet and Judy Racette of Escanaba, cousins, Carl (Karin)Adams and their children Travis and Kassidy, Tracy, Jim (Amber) and their son Logan, Corina, Gayla (Gary), Jason, and numerous friends. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Anna Jean Asikainen, Howard and Dorothy Jarvey, uncle William Jarvey, and grandfather Rudy Sayatovich.
Funeral services for Richard were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Pastor Scott Williams officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Following the funeral service, a luncheon was held at the Covington VFW Post #8945.
