ROBERT M. "BOB" DOVE's Obituary
ROERT M. “BOB” DOVE, 81, of Skanee, MI., passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Portage Health System, Hancock following surgery. He was born in Trout Creek, MI. on April 8, 1927 the son of the late Jarl and Linda (Laakonen) Dove. Bob attended school in Baraga. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Bob married the former Eunice Elmblad in Baraga on November 29, 1952. He was employed as a truck driver for Pettibone Corporation, and then he was a self employed truck driver until his retirement in 1992. Bob was a member of the Baraga American Legion Post 444. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, and making wood.
Mr. Dove is survived by his loving wife, Eunice, sons, Paul (Patti) Dove of L'Anse, Peter (Lynn) Dove of Green Bay, WI., and Patrick (Kristen) Dove of Green Bay, WI., 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sisters, Gladys Petersen of Royal Palm Beach, FL., and Carol (Daryl) Hamilton of Julietta, ID. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by two sistes, Gloria and Linda.
Graveside services for Mr. Dove were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Skanee Cemetery with Judy Mattson officiating. Military honors were conducted by Baraga County Area Veterans, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444.
