Robert J Wakeford's Obituary
Robert J. Wakeford, age 72, of Sidnaw, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. He was born in Green Bay, WI on May 11, 1945 the son of the late Randolph J. and Beatrice M. (Findley) Wakeford. Robert graduated from L’Anse High School. He had worked for Wood Development Corp in Sidnaw as a lumber grader. Robert's leisure activities included hunting, fishing, playing cards and he was an avid Lions and Tigers fan. He had a green thumb and loved gardening. Robert enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved watching fireworks. His proudest accomplishment was teaching himself to cook. On his birthday on May 11th he had his family over for a birthday celebration and had baked his own birthday cake.
Robert is survived by his loving family, uncle Charles P. (Marilyn) Findley of Arizona, cousins Pam (James) Kantola of Bruce Crossing, Kris (Troy) Hefner of Arizona, Jeff (Jamie) Findley of California, Sue Abel of Ewen, Rick (Linda) Barnes of WI, Randy (Peggy) Findley of FL Monica (Steve) Fairbanks of Traverse City, Rhonda (Dan) Thingelstad of SC and Robert (Bobbie Jo) Findley of FL, many good friends including Mike, Chris, Jimmy and Fred. He is also survived by his cat, Georgia. Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Gladys (DeHut) Findley, his parents Randolph and Beatrice, aunt Marguerite Beck, uncle Robert Findley, cousin James Michael Barnes and additional aunts, uncles and cousins.
