ROSALINE A. "ROSE" TESSMER's Obituary
ROSALINE A. "ROSE" TESSMER, age 99, of Baraga, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Osceola, MI on September 11, 1913 the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Vrbanac) Sayotovich. Rose graduated from L’Anse High School in 1934. She married Arthur Tessmer in Marquette, MI in 1939. He preceded her in death. Rose was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Baraga. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and playing pinochle.
Mrs. Tessmer is survived by her children Arthur (Norma) Tessmer of Pickford, MI, Richard (Wanda) Tessmer of White Pine, and Carol (Jim) Seppanen of Baraga, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brothers Frank (Margaret) Sayotovich of Milwaukee, and Donald Sayotovich of Milwaukee, and son-in-law Tom (Ann) Santy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Terry Santy, sisters Verna, and Mary, brothers, John, Rudolph, Michael, Anthony, and Ralph.
A memorial funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Deacon John Cadeau officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Friday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Following the memorial funeral service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel.
