ROSE E. PELTO's Obituary
ROSE E. PELTO, 87, of Ewen, MI. passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Bayside Village, L'Anse following a short illness. She was born in Nisula, MI. on July 4, 1918, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Mustaparta) Hartwick. Rose attended school in Bruce Crossing, MI. She married Arnold Pelto in Bruce Crossing in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1982. Rose was a lifetime member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Bruce Crossing. She resided in Ewen for over 70 years and been a resident of Bayside Village since September of 2005. Rose enjoyed helping other people and baking.
Mrs. Pelto is survived by her children, Ruth (Duke) Snyder of Munising, MI., Esther (Bruce) Bowman of Colorado Springs, CO., Naomi (Eliot) Haycock of Chassell, MI., Lois Pelto of Fort Washington, PA., Eva (Jim) Johnson of Fort Washington, PA., Rebecca Pelto of Austin, TX., and Nathaniel (Sue) Pelto of Rogers, MN. Numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter Eunice, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A memorial service for Mrs. Pelto was held at 11 a.m. on December 3, 2005 from the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Bruce Crossing. The family received friends at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Spring burial will be held in the Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing, MI. The family suggests memorials in Mrs. Pelto's honor may be directed to the Still Waters Assisted Living in Calumet. Mrs. Pelto's obituary may also be viewed and condolences sent to the family at www.rfsc.net. The Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse assisted the family with arrangements.
