RUDOLPH E. HAMANN's Obituary
RUDOLPH E. HAMANN, age 76, of Elo, MI., passed away Friday, September 5, 2003, at Baraga county Memorial Hospital, L'Anse, following a lengthy illness. Rudolph was born in Milwaukee, WI. August 22, 1927, son of the late Rudolph Sr. and Laviera (Unmack) Hamann. He was a graduate of Milwaukee High School. On June 14, 1952, he married the former Sharon Denomie in Milwaukee. Rudy was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed as chief maintenance engineer in several Milwaukee hospitals until his retirement. He was a summer resident of Elo for over 25 years, moving here permanently in 1996. He was a member of the Milwaukee Eagles Club and the Alston V.F.W Post 7646. Rudy was talented in fixing anything mechanical, liked doing handyman jobs and working on cars, and was an amateur radio ham operator.
Mr. Hamann is survived by his loving wife Sharon, son, Roger Hamann of Hartford, WI.;daughters Renee (Glenn) Ludwig of Arpin, WI, and Theresa (Shane) Jacobson of Oahu, Hawaii, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by 2 sons and 1 brother. A graveside service for Mr. Hamann was held Monday, September 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. in the Elo Cemetery. The Copper Country Veterans held military honors at the gravesite.
