SANDRA ANN DOWD, 50, of Baraga passed away at her residence following a lengthy illness Wednesday morning, October 22, 2003. She was born in Houghton, MI. on July 14, 1953 daughter of the late James and Frances (Jondreau) Cardinal Read Obituary
Everyone who knew Sandy was truly blessed. I shared a chair next to her as well as millie emery, on the chemotherapy ward in hancock. She always looked at life happily and made jokes so everyone would be laughing till they were crying. She took alot more meds than any of us could ever take and she even was forced to go back to work because her insuranse started to give problems. She was an angel in disguise. Perpetual life will not just shine, but glow upon her.
Family and friends - you are in my heart. It is such a great loss. I just wanted everyone to know that I shared a room for eight days with Sandy in Hawaii 2 years ago and it was my most enjoyable trip and vacation I ever had in my life - every night we would sit up late talking and laughing - my jaw and stomach would hurt so bad from laughing that I would get mad at her. She was on the Board of Commissioners for two years for Ojibwa Housing - and she added a lot of spice to our meetings. She will always be in my memories and thoughts. Maybe the Great Spirit needed another helper to make everyone laugh in the afterworld. I will miss her dearly.
