SANDRA A. "SANDY" STERBENZ's Obituary
SANDRA ANN "SANDY" STERBENZ, age 64, of L'Anse passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Bayside Village, L'Anse following an illness of several months. She was born in Hancock, MI. on July 28, 1947, the daughter of the late Rueben and Bertha (Walitalo) Jestila. Sandy graduated from Baraga High School. She married Gary Sterbenz on February 6, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L'Anse. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2006. Sandy had worked at the Lakeview True Value Hardware store in L'Anse. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and being with her family.
Mrs. Sterbenz is survived by her children Gary D. Sterbenz of L'Anse, Robin Mannikko of Indiana, and Suzie (Mike) Little of Florida, grandchildren Ashley, Brandon, Kyle, Sara, and Tyler, and her great grandchild Easton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Graveside services for Mrs. Sterbenz were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Deacon John Cadeau officicating.
