Shirley A. Urban's Obituary
Shirley A. Urban, age 61, of Baraga passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at her home, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Cheboygan, MI on April 18, 1954 the daughter of the late Robert and Margie (Judson) Rose. Shirley graduated from Pellston High School in 1972. She married William “Bill” Urban, Jr. in San Antonio, TX on July 1, 1999. Shirley had been employed at Pat’s Foods in L’Anse as a price coordinator. She enjoyed camp fires, being in the woods, making wood, garage sales, and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley was known for her good sense of humor.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Bill of Baraga, daughter Jessie (Adam) Carlson of Newark, IL, grandchildren Alyssa, Kaleb, Tyler and Tommy, brother Harry (Jean Ann) Rose of Pellston, MI, sister Carolyn Grooters of Queens Creek, Arizona, and half-brother Jay Judson of Galesburg, MI She was preceded in death by her half-brother Brian
A memorial funeral service was held at 2 p.m, Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Reverend Rex Howe officiating. The family greeted friends at the funeral chapel on Friday from 1 pm until the time of the service. Following the memorial funeral service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral chapel.
