SULO A. ELLIS's Obituary
SULO A. ELLIS, age 83, of L’Anse, MI died on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Omega House, Houghton, MI. He was born in Aura, MI on August 27, 1929 the son of the late Ernest and Hilja (Virta) Ellis. Sulo attended schools in Pequaming, L’Anse, and Detroit. He worked for local loggers on road construction and for C.C.I. at the various open pit mines, retiring in1982 as a foreman in pit operating, after 30 years of service. Sulo enjoyed his camp and being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Ellis is survived by three stepsons Gary Lane of Lisbon Falls, Maine, David (Vivian) Marion of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Eugene “Faye” Marion of Houghton, sisters Martha Harju of L’Anse, and Laila Poirier of Marquette, and step daughter-in-law Patsy Lane of L’Anse. Numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces and his very special lady, Shirley Carkeek of Baraga also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn of 41 years, stepsons Gene (Dorothy) Lane of Lisbon Falls, Maine, Dennis Lane of L’Anse, and sister Elsie (Mylo) Paquet of Aura.
Private funeral services and interment will take place.
