Thomas A. "Tom" Stenson's Obituary
Thomas A. "Tom" Stenson, age 90 of Sidnaw, MI passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. He was born in Ishpeming, MI on July 21, 1931, the son of the late Sten Thomas A. and Edith (Anderson) Stenson. Tom graduated from L’Anse High School in 1949. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1956. On June 14, 1960 he married the former Faith Kennedy at the Lutheran Church in L’Anse. Tom had worked at Cleveland Cliffs and retired after 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Sidnaw United Methodist Church. Tom enjoyed bird hunting, reading and playing cards on Tuesdays with “the guys”.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Faith, children Kathleen Stenson, Thomas A. (Gabriella) Stenson III from Germany, Keith (Tonya) Stenson of Tucson, Arizona, and Elizabeth (Mark) Ayler of Sidnaw, grandchildren David, Katrina, Morgan, Danielle, Bobby Leigh, and Matthew, great grandchildren Jakob, Emma and Wesley, sisters Marilyn (Charles) Finley of Sun City, Arizona, and Natalie (John) Diekhans of Laurel Montana. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousin also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jean and Carol and his infant brother.
Military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 in the Sidnaw Cemetery, Sidnaw, Michigan.
Following military honors, the family invites friends to stop by Faith's home in Sidnaw to have a beer for Tom.
