Troy L. Whitlow's Obituary
Troy L. Whitlow, age 71 of L’Anse, MI passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. Troy was born in South Bend, IN on August 27, 1953 the son of Truman T. and Lilly B. (Hamlett) Whitlow. Troy graduated from Westview High School. While Troy had lived in Texas had volunteered as an EMT and fire fighter. Troy had worked as an over the road long haul trucker. He retired from trucking after 25 years. Troy married the former Denise S. Lane in L’Anse on December 21, 2000. He was a member of Grace Free Lutheran Church, Pelkie and the NRA. Troy had enjoyed playing cribbage, drawing, fishing, deer hunting, traveling, going to the casino and trucking,
Troy is survived by his loving family; his wife Denise Whitlow of L’Anse, son Quinn Whitlow of Gatesville, TX, daughters Kelly (Andy) Karns of Holland, TX, Coty Whitlow of Gatesville, TX, Laura (Sharif) Sidarous of Gatesville, TX, and Holly Whitlow of Hancock, MI, grandchildren George (Jillian) Karns, Haley (Josh) Meredith, and Zafirah Sidarous, great grandchildren Lilith Meredith, and Lanie Karns, brothers David Whitlow of Augustine, TX, Bobby Whitlow of Mount Enterprise, TX, Darryl (Angel) Whitlow of Carthage, TX, Jody (Kristy) Whitlow of Mount Enterprise, TX, and Jeff (Suzy) Whitlow of Three Rivers, MI. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Truman, sister Sandy Lummus, and his brother Johnny Allen Whitlow.
Funeral services for Troy will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Pelkie, MI with Pastor Dave Hoskins officiating. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the church hall.
Interment will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Carthage, Texas.
