I am sorry to hear about Verna. I know how close the Mäkelä and Heltunen famlies were here in Aura and in Suomussalmi, Finland. This is truly a great loss to the Aura landscape and its history. The Family will be in our thoughts.

I was saddened to learn of Vernas' passing. She was always so friendly to me. I will always remember the time we met in town, had lunch at the Niteowl, then met again in the drug store, and then met, still again, at the grocery store...all before 2 oclock the same day. We visited each time ! God bless her.

I was so sorry to see the notice in the Mining Gazette. I live in Dearborn, Michigan, but was from Aura. My condolences to the family.

We were so sorry to hear about Verna. We will always remember her warm smile and what a nice person she was. Verna and Norm were such great friends to Tom and Lillian Hall for many years and had such great times together.

Auntie Verna's Family- We are feeling your loss. I have such fond memories of Auntie Verna's warm and loving hospitality. I can't count the number of times that I would pedal over from Grandma and Grandpa's to knock on the door and be welcomed in for a cup of coffee and a cookie, and of course that great box of comics she kept on the back porch. With a warm hug and a ready laugh, Auntie Verna was truly a great lady. With our deepest sympathy.
