WILLIAM PATRICK "BILL" STERBENZ's Obituary
WILLIAM PATRICK "BILL" STERBENZ, 35, of Toma WI., formerly of Baraga, MI. passed away suddenly Monday, January 15, 2007 in Toma, WI. He was born in L'Anse, MI. on August 27, 1971 son of William Paul and Brenda (Hill) Sterbenz. Bill graduated from Baraga High School in 1989. He was a member of the Michigan National Guard and served in the US Army during the Gulf War in the Food Service Department until his discharge in1993. Bill had lived in Toma, WI. for eight years and was employed in the shipping department for the I.G. Cardinal Manufacturing Company. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Baraga, MI. and was a member of the Toma, WI. VFW post. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles and especially spending time with his nephew and his family members.
Bill is survived by his loving parents, William and Brenda Sterbenz of Baraga, sister, Jennifer (Tom) Collins of L'Anse, maternal grandparents, Melvin and Mildred Hill of Baraga, and nephews, Jordan and Brody Collins of L’Anse. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents.
Funeral services for Bill were held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Father Augustin George officiating. Spring interment will take place in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Following the service, the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room located at the funeral home.
