Amelia Mae Eilola's Obituary
Amelia Mae Eilola, age 82, of Powers, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, Powers, Michigan. She was born in Hancock, MI on October 17, 1933 the daughter of the late John A. and Agnes K (Keranen) Eilola. Amelia graduated from John Doelle as valedictorian of her class in 1951. She attended Northern Michigan University Skilled Center in the secretarial field. Amelia had worked for various businesses as a secretary and retired from Manderfield. She was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie. Amelia loved spending time at her home, tending to her blueberry field, enjoying a cup of coffee and visiting with family and friends.
Amelia is survived by her loving son Albert (Sandy) Eilola of Gladstone, grandchildren Sara and Alex, brother Donald Eilola of Askel and sisters Helen Leinonen of Askel, Gloria Mathieu of Tapiola and Nancy Myllyla of Arnheim. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her brother Jackie.
A graveside service for Amelia took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the Askel Cemetery, Askel, Michigan with Pastor John Autio officiating.
