CARLO L. HEIKKINEN, 93, of Pequaming, MI passed away suddenly Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the home of his son. He was born in Painesdale, MI. on June 13, 1918 the son of the late Antti and Annie (Hietila) Heikkinen. Carlo graduated Read Obituary
Sorry to hear of Carlo's passing. As a teen I fondly remember working on the Heikkinen farm in the sumnmers and also visiting the Co-op store in Aura-- which he managed. And in the recent past, playing golf w/him and the group on Tuesdays during vacation. He was a great and successful man. May he rest in peace. Jim Maki
Although we only knew Carlo when he drove up yearly for a donation for the Shriners his determination and great attitude will be missed at our door. I told him this year how very surprised we are each year that he just continued on and on. What a wonderful smile that is captured in his photos. And still able to drive at age 93!

I was so sorry to hear of Carlo's death. I saw it online on the Mining Gazette website. Our familys were once so close; my parents and grandparents all went back so many years. The family has my heartfelt condolences. As we age we lose more and more of our former friends. I haven't been to the area in two years, as travel has become difficult for me, but I remember my years in Aura fondly. Again, please know the family is in my heart and prayers.
We send our sympathy to Carlo's family. He will be missed so very much in the various activities that he so faithfully worked at. His calm demeanor was refreshing and so welcomed in this busy and hectic world of ours. Bill and I will REALLY miss him at the monthly pasty making thursdays. He was very special to us.
