CAROLYN D. ANDERSON's Obituary
CAROLYN D. ANDERSON, 69, of Marquette and formerly of L’Anse, MI. passed away at her residence Friday, January 26, 2007 in Marquette. She had been in ill health for some time. Carolyn was born in Marquette, MI. on November 12, 1937 daughter of the late Leonard R. and Ingrid (Mattson) Bartelli. She attended school in Marquette and graduated in 1955. Carolyn attended MI. State University and graduated in 1962 from Northern Michigan University with a BS degree in education. She had served on the board of the L’Anse Public Library and the Superiorland Library Co-op. Carolyn taught 1st grade at the CJ Sullivan School from 1969 until her retirement in 1992. She was fondly known as “Mrs. Selinger” during her teaching years. Carolyn married Bob Anderson on July 28, 1991 in Lake Tahoe, NV.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her loving husband, Robert, son, Jeff (Beth) Selinger and son Zack of Soldotna, AK., daughter, Diane Selinger of Chassell and children, Jenna and Max Miron and Jake Rilei; step children, Susan (Stephen) Thronson of Potomac, MD., and daughters, Claire and Alaine; Carol (Laszlo) Pallai of Newbury, CA. and their children, Istvan and Matyas; Laura (Aaron) Smith of Las Vegas, NV.; daughter-in-law, Marylor Selinger of Santa Rosa, CA. and daughter Jessica, brothers, Barry (Pam) Bartelli of Vulcan, MI., and Barton (Marjean) Bartelli of Marquette, Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Selinger.
A memorial service for Mrs. Anderson was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Ben Paris officiating. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 12 noon until time of the service. Following the service the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse. The family would like to thank the Lake Superior Hospice Association with a special thank you to Becky and Kathleen.
