I enjoyed Mr. Goulet as a math teacher while I was at L.H.S and there was a lot more than math being taught in his classroom. I came to understand and appreciate many of those life lessons in the years to follow. Dave truly loved to teach and wanted everyone to learn. He gave TLD's (teaching and learning devices) instead of quizzes so that kids were not intimidated. He wanted you to learn that in life, you make mistakes and may not understand something so ask questions and never be afraid to learn and challenge yourself. Some of his favorite sayings were "Math is Micky Mouse", "don't hit the panic button" and "math is easy, take the formula, plug in the numbers and out spits the answer". I was fortunate to have connected with Dave again in recent years while visiting at Bayside. His charming smile and memories about "you Covington kids" will always make me smile. I told my daughter Nicole stories about my teacher Dave and she made a very special connection with Dave also. Dave would quiz her about her grades, science, her love of art and share his latest history factoid from Bayside and want us all to play along. I found out he loved lemon pie and that became our favorite treat. My condolences to the Goulet family. You have lost a precious member but know that Dave touched many lives here on earth and is at peace now. Pam (Nopola) Kivela
