ELIZABETH L. “BETTY” GIDDINGS, 78, of Baraga passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Marquette General Hospital where she had been a patient for the past 17 days. She was born in L'Anse, MI. on November 4, 1929 the daughter of the Read Obituary

I'm so sorry to learn of your mom's passing. I remember when you were little kids and lived near us. You'd all be buzzing around, doing the things kids do, and every now and then your mom would come out and make sure you were ok, that wonderful red hair of hers shining in the sunlight. She made a beautiful picture. The world is a little less without her.
My deepest condolences to the entire family. Know that Betty is in a wonderful place now, and watching from above. My prayers are with you all at this time.
I got to know Betty when I worked at Elm's in the 1980's. She would wait on the sidewalk for me to come out to find out what she needed and I would get her things and pack up her wheelchair and we would chat. I looked forward to her coming. Even if she wasn't buying anything that day I would go outside to chat with her. She told me about her camping experience at Bay Cliff and talked me into being a counsler there in 1989. Although Betty wasn't one of the campers I cared for, we got to interact quite a bit while we were there for that week. I was truly amazed at her painting skills. Its an experience I will never forget. I haven't seen much of her in the last 20 yrs but I think of her everytime I hear of Bay Cliff. Rest in Peace.
