EMMA I. ANDERSON's Obituary
EMMA I. ANDERSON, 93, of Covington passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. She was born in Watton, MI. on April 5, 1917 the daughter of the late August and Maria (Niemi) Godell. Emma attended school in Watton. She married Edward Anderson in Hancock on May 3, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1983. She was a loving wife and enjoyed having company. Her memory and wit were well known by her friends. She and Edward enjoyed wintering in Florida and after his death she still went there for many years. Emma was a lifelong faithful member of the Watton Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her loving brother Robert Godell of Covington, and numerous nieces and nephews including special nephew Roy Godell and grandniece Peggy Vervisch, and cousins. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson were held at 11 am Saturday, January 22, 2011 from the Watton Apostolic Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery. The family received friends at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials in Mrs. Anderson’s honor may be directed to the Watton Apostolic Lutheran Church.
