JEANETTE E. RAYMOND's Obituary
JEANETTE E. RAYMOND, 87, of Baraga, passed away suddenly at her home Sunday, December 6, 2009. She was born on August 21, 1922 the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Nelson) Holmes. Jeanette graduated from Baraga High School in 1940. She continued her education at Ferris University and graduated from MNU receiving her degree in education. Jeanette also received special training in Rochester, MN. She taught school in Manton, MI. Keweenaw Bay, Baraga and retired from the L'Anse schools in 1980 She married Harvey Raymond in Baraga on June 21, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of L'Anse United Methodist Church, the Historical Society, and Baraga County Museum and the Retired Teachers Association. Jeanette enjoyed sewing, reading, bow hunting, skiing, and archery in which she received many awards.
Mrs. Raymond is survived by special friends Rodger and Kathy Hebert and Barbara Mayo who provided not only friendship, but concern and companionship as well. She was preceded by the untimely death of her son Charles in 1974.
Private services will be held at a later date. Spring interment will take place in the Baraga Cemetery.
