JOHN R. “PUTZ” CHARTIER, 69, of Pelkie, MI. passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Marquette, MI. on May 15, 1936 son of the late Albert and Mildred (Anderson) Chartier. Read Obituary

My sincerest & deepest condolences and sympathy for the loss of "Putz". He touched thousands of lives with his positive and encouraging attitude. I remember him from the Grandville when I was "setting pins" and from my driver's license test in mid-February on snowy roads. His confidence in others was, and remains, inspirational. May God Bless y'all with His direction, guidance, love, and protection today and always! May his soul rest in peace!

Auntie Frannie, Kristine & Family: It was with great sadness to learn of Uncle Putz's passing. I, too, got my first driver's license from him, and he always made it a point to visit with me at family gatherings. There were so many good times, and great memories!! He will be greatly missed. Please know that you all are in our hearts and prayers at this most difficult time.

Fran and Family, so sorry to hear about "Sharkey". I too, worked in the same building with him for many years. I remember watching "The Young and the Restless" with him in the middle room at lunch time. I got a kick out of all his stories and jokes. He liked to act all tough and crabby, but he was really a softie underneath! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I enjoyed working with John while he was manager of the L'Anse Secretary of State office. It was always a joy to listen to his stories, the jokes he would tell, and his talking about classic cars.
