My condolences to the Power family. God Bless all of you our prayers and thoughts are with you all.
I will always remember my dear friend Margaret. My thoughts and prayers are with your family in our time of sorrow.
Like the gardens that she so loved, Margaret brought much beauty into the world.
Dear Mr. Power and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Although I only met Margaret just last summer, my few encounters with her were very memorible. We shared our love of flower gardening and quilting and I so enjoyed talking to her. May she rest in peace. Maureen Salo
Dear Wally, I heard the news today from my sister Nancy. Such sad news... Margaret was such a wonderful and kind person. Margaret's friendship with my mother was such a positive and supportive blessing for her. I know both my parents loved her, and you, very, very much. Perhaps they're all at a free pancake breakfast in Heaven-I know dad will take them on a tour afterwards, and point out all the sights.
Margaret was so kind and loving to me-I will never forget the way she made me feel welcome, and loved.
I don't know what else to say...I am just so glad she, and you, were in my life for those years I was living in the UP. It was a very difficult time for me, and she always was so positive and supportive.
My deepest sympathies to you and all your family. I know you will find strength and love in their support. Take care, and all my love, Kathy.
Dearest Power family! Oh how Margaret will be missed by this Hornick family!!! For the past 20 years we so looked forward to coming to the UP, visiting the parents and of course, the Powers. The stroll down to your house just to listen to Margaret tell us all about her life as she was growing up, her kids and grandkids. And the way she would whisper in my ear when Wally wasn't looking "if you go to the casino, stop by and get me." ha Oh how we loved going to the casino with her! God Bless you all and thank you, for letting us be a part of your life!!
Dearest Wally and Family,
What a blessing it was to know and have Margaret as a dear friend. She was like a mother to me, having lost my mom 8 years ago, she and I bonded and had many wonderful times together. She always listened to anything that I needed to talk about and in her quiet way offered advice or told me I handled things just as they should be. She had a gentle and kind spirit.
Margaret was always willing to buy anything from the kids over the years when they were growing up and had those fund raisers, whether she needed it or not. She said that was because she remembers her poor son Wally not being able to sell one thing for a fund raiser and never wanted a child to go through that experience. An example of her kindness!
She shared many stories about each and every one of you, children and grandchildren. Every story shared always included something that she was proud of about each of you. I know she loved you all dearly as that love twinkled in her eyes as she spoke. That love really twinkled when she spoke of you, dear Wally. She always told me of how much she loved you and felt blessed by having such a dear loving husband and that she could not have been any happier!
I am so happy that Margaret was able to live her years in her own home and never had to go into a nursing home. I feel the beauty of the lake and her flower gardens were some of the best medicine for her and her soul.
Margaret will be missed and I am thankful for having had her in my life. I will cherish the memories! God Bless all of you,
Karla and Family
