Mark Spencer LaPine's Obituary
Mark Spencer LaPine, age 59, of L’Anse, MI passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Alpena, MI. He was born in Alpena, Michigan on May 21, 1955 the son of the late Larry and Rita (Lynch) LaPine. He graduated from high school in Alpena, then attended Ferris University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. Mark had held various positions with the state of Michigan and had been employed at Baraga Maximum Prison until his retirement in 2012. He married the former Linda Asher in L’Anse on February 13, 1997. Mark enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, hunting and trapping.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Linda, children Danielle (Dan) Haapala of Wisconsin, Michelle Asher (William "Henry" Bowman) of L’Anse, Jon Asher of Wisconsin and Lynette Asher of Wisconsin, grandchildren Julian, Courtland, Alysha, Logan, Joran, Shyana, Jocelyn, Rylee, Bailey and Brenna, great grandchildren Evelyn and Tristan, sisters Kelly (Steve) Nowakowski of Alpena and Laurie (Vern) Gauthier of Alpena. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
