RODNEY H. DELINE's Obituary
RODNEY H. DELINE, age 60, of Skanee passed away suddenly at his residence Monday evening March 30, 2009. He was born in Fort Belvoir, Va. on October 2, 1948 the son of Duane and Kay (Jolly) DeLine. Rod graduated in 1966 from the Rockford Michigan High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1974 from Michigan Tech. University. Rod opened the Country Cottage jewelry store in L'Anse and then moved it to the Houghton Copper Country Mall as one of the original tenants. He retired in February 2009 after 36 years in business. Rod had recently been appointed a sales associate for State Wide Real Estate, L'Anse. He was a member of the Houghton Chamber of Commerce and in the mid 80's was co-chairman of the P.O.R races. In his leisure time Rod enjoyed gardening, cooking, was a skilled handyman looking forward to remodeling projects in his Skanee home.
Mr. DeLine is survived by his loving wife, Mary, sons, John of Skanee and Patrick of Hancock, his mother, Kay of Florida, brother, Duane DeLine of Grand Raids, and sister, Barbara Metzger of Grand Rapids. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father.
