I only saw my great-aunt a few times that I can remember. My grandmother, Signe, always talked about her sister when I was over at her house for lunch hour. I feel I got to know her better through my grandmother. I want to send my prayers to all our family and friends who knew Sylvia and that I am sorry to hear of her passing while I'm in Iraq.
I am Mrs. Tollefson's neighbor across the street since 1987. She always welcomed me and my dog into her home the too few times I made it over there and always served topnotch cake she had made with fresh coffee and lots of newsy conversation. She kept the birds and deer fed outside her window, too. When telling me of the house painting she did all herself, I was impressed. I am saddened my gracious neighbor is gone and will miss you, Sylvia.
