SYLVIA E TOLLEFSON's Obituary
SYLVIA E. TOLLEFSON, 92, of Baraga, MI. passed away Monday morning March 30, 2009, at Bayside Village where she had been a resident for a week. She was born in Hancock on August 27, 1916 the daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Ojala) Styrk. Sylvia graduated from Baraga High School in 1936. She married Henry Auge in Houghton on November 7, 1936. He preceded her in death in December of 1942. On April 14, 1945 she married Erling Tollefson in L'Anse. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1999. Sylvia was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Baraga.
Mrs. Tollefson is survived by her loving sons, Henry “Hank”(Sharon) Auge of Baraga, Gary (Susan) Auge of Flint, and Jaren (Chris) Tollefson of L'Anse, grandchildren, Carol, Hank Jr., Scott, Craig, Brent, Mary Sue, and Glenn, great grandchildren, Eric, Tara, Steven, and Luke, great great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, and Emily, sisters, Sigrid (Paul) Foy of Covington, and Signe Kruse of L'Anse, and special friend, Clayton Collins. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tollefson were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L'Anse with Pastor Scott Williams officiating. Interment took place in the Baraga Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Following the service the family invited friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home.
